The 2019 SDG Country Report for South Africa, follows the Voluntary National Review report that was presented at the 2019 High Level Political Forum. The country report provides us with a timely reminder, not only of our successes, given our historical context, but more so of the challenges that have to be addressed if we wish to attain the goals and targets set out in this global development framework. We now have a solid foundation that evaluates our progress to date and the extent of the tasks that lies ahead.

As of 2012, South Africa had its NDP and Vision 2030, aimed at addressing the country’s triple challenges of poverty, unemployment and inequality.
